Challenges

Analysing the current experience

The existing voting flow introduced unnecessary friction.

Users had to engage with a card, navigate to a dedicated poll section, and scroll through multiple videos before they could finally submit a vote.

This multi-step journey increased drop-offs and limited spontaneous participation, especially in high-traffic moments where attention is short.

We identified this as a key opportunity to simplify the interaction model, bringing voting closer to the content itself and enabling faster, more contextual engagement.

Approach

Two complementary voting experiences

Instead of replacing the existing poll section, I introduced a lightweight poll widget embedded directly within content.

Both solutions coexist in the app, serving different user intents: the poll section for focused engagement, and the widget for instant participation wherever users already are.
